As per a report in the Spanish publication AS, Yevhen Konoplyanka’s agent and father Oleg Konopyanka has chosen to ignore reports that his son is in London for a medical at Tottenham Hotspur.
However, fresh reports from Span quote his agent and father as hinting that the rumours are false and even suggestingthat his son could remain at Dnipro beyond the summer.
“I’m not in London, I’m in Ukraine. Is my son in London? Is that what you want to know? I don’t want to comment on it, there is no point fighting against these rumours,” he told AS.
“Will Yevhen leave move to another club this summer? The truth is I can’t say 100%. I know he wants to go, therefore we will try. But he may also stay, in football anything can happen.”
Is Spurs a good option for Konoplyanka?
Tottenham head coach Mauricio Pochettino is looking to strengthen his squad this summer, and Konoplyanka would be a fine option for his side.
Spurs, despite their attacking abilities, lack a real quality winger – a player who can beat players, carry the ball for some distance and provide regular, accurate crosses for frontman Harry Kane.
Spurs have Europe League football to offer to the 25-year-old and arguably more opportunities of regular first-team football, with Liverpool already bringing in three attacking players this summer.
