Tottenham Hotspur media round-up: Paulinho could be better off if he leaves Spurs


A round up of news stories this morning related to Tottenham Hotspur.

The Daily Mirror has reported that Brazilian midfielder Paulinho could earn a pay rise if he moves to Chinese club Guangzhou.

The newspaper claims that Spurs are willing to sell the player for £11 million, £6 million less than they originally paid for him.

The Mirror claims his wages would rise to £85,000 per week if he opted for the move to Asia.

The Daily Mirror claims Morgan Schneiderlin will complete a move to Manchester United at some point next week.

The Frenchman is thought to have opted for an Old Trafford move according to the paper, with Totteham one of the other sides thought to have been interested.

The paper claims the deal will be worth a fee in the region of £24 million.

Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen has been quoted by the Daily Express revealing his belief that the club can challenge their main rivals next season.

The Dane feels Tottenham are capable of mounting a strong challenge to finish in the top four.

Spurs finished last season under Mauricio Pochettino in fifth place, narrowly missing out on qualification for the Champions League.

“We have the squad and the team to do it, so hopefully 2015-16 will be better and we can make further progress,” he said.
