Reading to sign former Fulham forward Orlando Sa

Madejski Reading

HITC Sport understands Reading are set to announce the signing of Portuguese striker Orlando Sa.

HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club that Reading have agreed a deal to sign Legia Warsaw forward Orlando Sa.

Reading are in the market for striking reinforcements after losing out to Queens Park Rangers in the race to sign Jamie Mackie earlier this summer and releasing veteran forward Yakubu at the end of the season.

The Royals have seen a couple of bids for Brentford’s Clayton Donaldson rejected, as covered by HITC Sport, but they have had better luck in their pursuit of Legia Warsaw's Sa.

Reading are understood to have agreed a fee of £1million with Legia for Sa, with the player already having undergone a medical at the Championship club.

Sa has had a spell in England before, taking in a disappointing one-year stay at Fulham in the 2011/12 season where he scored one goal in seven appearances for the Craven Cottage outfit.

After a spell in Cyprus with AEL Limassol, Sa joined Legia in 2014 and he scored 15 goals in 41 appearances for the Polish club.

Sa is expected to finalise his move to Reading on Monday and will become the club's first new signing of the summer.
