Picture spoof: Wojciech Szczesny's cunning plan to keep Cech out at Arsenal

Could Wojciech Szczesny consider unusual methods to stay at Arsenal?

Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny may need to find new ways to keep himself in with a shout at Arsenal.

The Gunners' imminent signing of Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech, reported by SkySports has been heralded by pundits and fans alike as a game changing signing for the club.

Szczesny could find himself reduced to third choice - second at best if Colombian goalkeeper David Ospina looks for a move away from the club.

HITC Top Corner has mocked up an image of Szczesny wearing Cech's trademark protective helmet, and attempting to win manager Arsene Wenger's favour through the method of disguise.

The Pole needs a bit of fortune from somewhere, having seen his career prospects slide over the past 12 months, and Cech could even make him ultimately expendable to the Gunners, even if long-term he could aim to eventually replace the incoming signing in a few years if he gets his head down and focuses.

This will depend on his willingness to learn, and how patient he can be on the bench. Former Arsenal stoppers like Stuart Taylor and Richard Wright - amazingly at Manchester City - have made careers out of being number two's, it's just a question of whether Szczesny is able to accept this as a temporary setback.
