Mirco Antenucci is ready to get started Leeds United.
Leeds United striker Mirco Antenucci is on his way back to the club for pre-season.
The Italian posted a photo on his Instagram page from Pescara airport, confirming it was time to get back to work after a summer break.
He wrote in an accompanying message in Italian: "Si riparte x un nuova stagione...da domani a lavoro a Thorp arch prof fai il bravo mi raccomando #7 #Leeds #MOT"
Translated he states he is starting afresh for a new season from tomorrow as he returns to Thorp Arch, the club's training ground.
The striker was Leeds' top scorer last season with 10 goals, a figure which easily could have been higher had he not been benched by then head coach Neil Redfearn for most of the second half of the season, with Steve Morison preferred.
Antenucci, 30, was one of the club's more impressive signings a year ago, and will be looking to make a good early impression under Uwe Rosler and lead the line for the club next season.
He will face competition from summer signing Lee Erwin, but there could be room for both with Rosler indicating in his early press conference he is open to trying various formations including 4-3-3 and 3-5-2 as he attempts to build his 'rock and roll football' philosophy at the club.
