Wijnaldum has been linked with a summer move to West Ham, Newcastle and Sunderland.
The talented Dutch midfielder has been linked with three Premier League clubs in recent days, with the Daily Mail claiming Sunderland are ready to lodge an £11 million bid for him, whilst the same media outlet reports on interest from West Ham and Newcastle.
A potentially great signing for whichever club can agree a deal with him, the current PSV Eindhoven captain looks set to depart the Netherlands this summer after an impressive 2014/15 campaign.
The 24-year-old scored 18 goals and register six assists from midfield, as PSV won the Eredivisie title, showing off his box-to-box ability and impressive attacking threat.
With the latest report, it appears as if Wijnaldum, whilst open to a Premier League transfer, is only keen on a move to one of the three interested parties.
Only looking for a ‘top’ club, Wijnaldum would choose West Ham due to their place in the Europa League, whilst Newcastle and Sunderland’s close brushes with relegation would make the midfielder look elsewhere to further his career.
Whilst the Hammers can now formalise their interest if they are seriously considering signing Wijnaldum, it appears as if Newcastle and Sunderland’s recent misfortune mean they need to look elsewhere for summer reinforcements.
