Inter Milan goalkeeper Francesco Bardi is reportedly being targeted by Premier League outfit West Ham United.

Report West Ham United target Francesco Bardi has interest from both Italian clubs and teams from abroad, the goalkeeper’s agent has told Tuttomercatoweb.

The Inter Milan goalkeeper featured for Italy during the 2015 UEFA European Under-21 Championship.

“He didn’t need the European Championships to show his quality, everyone already knew,” Vincenzo Rispoli told Tuttomercatoweb, as translated by Football Italia. “Before the tournament there was interest both in Italy and abroad.”

According to a report in La Gazzetta dello Sport, West Ham are interested in signing the former Livorno prospect this summer.

Bundesliga outfit Schalke and Serie A club Fiorentina are also interested in Bardi, according to the report.

Bardi played on loan for Chievo Verona from Inter during the 2014-15 campaign. The Italian kept one clean sheet in 10 Serie A appearances, while making 3.40 saves per game and 2.13 saves per goal.

Do West Ham United need Francesco Bardi?

It is interesting that West Ham are (reportedly) interested in Bardi, especially as they recently signed a goalkeeper.

Darren Randolph will be part of the Hammers’ 2015-16 campaign after signing on a free transfer following his departure from Championship club Birmingham City.

The 28-year-old will be the second choice between the posts, as Adrian is the undisputed number one for the London outfit.

Perhaps West Ham want Bardi as their third-choice custodian, but maybe they should be looking at 22-year-old Raphael Spiegel for that spot.
