A round up of news stories this morning about Tottenham Hotspur.
The French midfielder is mentioned as a target for Tottenham in the paper and he’s suggested that a decision over his future is imminent.
The paper claims that the Saints are looking for a fee in the region of £24 million to make a deal happen, with Arsenal and Manchester United also thought to be interested.
“Talks are ongoing and should be completed in the coming days. I hope it will all be concluded before pre-season begins next week,” he said.
The Daily Mail has reported that newly promoted Watford are targeting two players from Tottenham.
The Hornets are reported to be interested in moves for midfielders Paulinho and Etienne Capoue.
Neither player has been able to make a drastic impression since Mauricio Pochettino became the manager at White Hart Lane.
Tottenham striker Harry Kane has defended his England under-21 teammates after they crashed out of the European Championship, as he spoke to talkSPORT.
England fell to a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Italy last night, which saw them fail to back up a hard earned win against Sweden.
Kane insists the side feel they couldn’t have prepared any better in the build up to the tournament and he’s dismissed the idea that the players have let anyone down.
“We couldn’t have prepared any better. I don’t think we have let ourselves down at all. We tried to play the right way but things just haven’t gone for us,” he said.
