Report: Newcastle won't be selling Cisse or Tiote - until replacements are brought in

Cheick Tiote

The Magpies are cutting things fine in the transfer market.

Newcastle United will not be selling Papiss Cisse or Cheick Tiote until replacements are brought in this transfer window, according to the Shields Gazette.

Indeed, the duo have been linked with moves away from Tyneside but their exits won't be sanctioned unless there are new signings in place first.

The Gazette also suggest that the same applies for Frenchman Remy Cabella, who has recently been linked with a Newcastle exit.

Will it be same old under Mike Ashley?

Reports have linked Newcastle with a number of targets in recent weeks but, unlike many of their Premier League rivals, the Magpies are yet to get their foot off the ground and sign a single player.

Despite owner Ashley's promises at the end of last season, then, will it be business as usual at St James' Park?

Even if Newcastle sign a number of transfer targets between now and the end of the transfer window, they will still be lagging behind a good number of opposition sides.

The good news is the transfer window technically hasn't officially opened yet, so there's still plenty of time. Whether it'll be used wisely...
