Aston Villa and Chelsea are reportedly interested in Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic.
Aston Villa are not ready to pay £10 million for Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic, according to The Birmingham Mail.
The British newspaper has reported that although the Villans are interested in the 28-year-old, they cannot pay the £10m transfer fee that Stoke are looking for him and want him “for a cut-price fee”.
Chelsea are also interested in signing Begovic, according to the report, but the Bosnia and Herzegovina international does not want to be a second-choice goalkeeper.
Should Asmir Begovic join Aston Villa?
Begovic is one of the more underrated goalkeepers in the Premier League and is worth £10m, despite his age.
The 28-year-old has been on the books of Stoke since 2010, and he does deserve a move to a bigger club.
Whether leaving Stoke for Villa will be a good move for Begovic is open to question.
The Villans narrowly avoided relegation from the Premier League at the end of the 2014-15 campaign, while the Potters finished ninth in the league table.
