People News: JPMorgan, PJT Partners, C Suisse

For Hire

JPMorgan has named Deutsche Bank’s Arkadi Nachimowski head of chemicals investment banking for Europe, Middle East and Africa, with a list of clients featuring Syngenta.

Bloomberg News reports that Nachimowski, who has led Deutsche Bank’s European chemicals business since 2007, will report to Ed Byers, head of EMEA industrials, according to an internal memo seen by Bloomberg

Nachimowski joins JPMorgan at a time when the U.S. bank is helping Syngenta with its response to an unwanted $45bn takeover approach from Monsanto.

In the meantime, Bloomberg News also reports that PJT Partners, the merger-advisory firm started by former Morgan Stanley banker Paul Taubman, hired Tom Davidson to expand its health-care business, according to a person familiar with the plans.

Davidson will focus on pharmaceutical and biotechnology deals, said the person, who asked not to be identified because the plans are private. He was previously a vice chairman at Credit Suisse, and has also worked at Merrill Lynch.
