Jamie Carragher reacts to Nathaniel Clyne to Liverpool reports

Former Crystal Palace defender Nathaniel Clyne is reportedly set to leave Southampton for Premier League rivals Liverpool this summer.

Jamie Carragher has revealed on Kicca.com that he advised Nathaniel Clyne to leave Southampton and join Liverpool last season.

The 24-year-old right-back is reportedly on the verge of joining Merseyside outfit Liverpool.

According to The Daily Mail, the Reds have had a bid of £12.5 million bid accepted for the Saints defender.

The England international will put pen to paper on a five-year contract and will have a medical next week once he returns from holiday in the USA, according to the British newspaper.

Former Liverpool defender Carragher seems to be delighted with the latest reports, and has revealed his advice to Clyne last season.

“I saw Nathaniel Clyne at St Mary’s after a game last season & told him to sign for Lfc he took my advice!” the former England international wrote on Kicca.com.

“I think it’s another good signing for the club to go along with the other business already done.”

Would Nathaniel Clyne be a good signing for Liverpool?

Clyne is one of the best right-backs in the Premier League, and he is certainly going to enhance the quality of the current Liverpool squad.

The former Crystal Palace defender scored two goals and created 22 chances in 35 Premier League appearances in the 2014-15 season.

The 24-year-old had a pass accuracy of 78% and a shot accuracy of 36%, and won 12 headers, 27 dribbles and 74 tackles.
