The 24-year-old right-back is reportedly on the verge of joining Merseyside outfit Liverpool.
The England international will put pen to paper on a five-year contract and will have a medical next week once he returns from holiday in the USA, according to the British newspaper.
Former Liverpool defender Carragher seems to be delighted with the latest reports, and has revealed his advice to Clyne last season.
“I saw Nathaniel Clyne at St Mary’s after a game last season & told him to sign for Lfc he took my advice!” the former England international wrote on Kicca.com.
“I think it’s another good signing for the club to go along with the other business already done.”
