Further Championship interest in highly-rated Shrewsbury winger Josh Ginnelly

HITC Sport understands that Huddersfield have joined the likes of Celtic, Nottingham Forest, Newcastle and Sunderland in the scramble for Josh Ginnelly.

Huddersfield Town have joined the chase for Shrewsbury Town starlet Josh Ginnelly, who is yet to agree a professional deal with the club.

HITC Sport has learnt from sources close to the club that the 18-year-old winger is looking likely to quit the Shrews, with Premier League and Championship clubs keen on landing him.

Now Huddersfield have thrown their hat into the ring, joining the likes of top-flight trio Newcastle United, Sunderland, Stoke City and second tier promotion hopefuls Nottingham Forest and Wolverhampton Wanderers in the race to secure his signature.

Reigning Scottish Premiership champions Celtic and their Old Firm rivals Rangers are also believed to be closely monitoring the situation, meaning Shrewsbury have a huge battle on their hands to persuade Ginnelly to sign a new deal.

Ginnelly made three appearances for Shrewsbury's senior side last season, forming part of Micky Mellon’s first-team squad as the club secured promotion back to League One at the first time of asking.
