Everton today confirmed on their official website that winger Gerard Deulofeu has returned to the club on a permanent deal from Barcelona.
The 21-year-old emerged through the famous La Masia academy with Barcelona, but has found his path to the first team blocked by a number of stars.
Deulofeu spent the 2013/14 season on loan at Everton, and captured the hearts of the Toffees faithful, scoring four goals in 29 games before heading back to Barcelona last summer.
After another loan spell, this time with Sevilla, Deulofeu has left the Camp Nou permanently, signing for Everton on a three-year contract, as reported on the Everton official website.
The reunion with former boss Roberto Martinez no doubt played a huge role in Deulofeu's return to Merseyside - and fans were ecstatic.
Supporters took to Twitter after the announcement to air their thoughts on the deal, and the verdict was virtually unanimous.
Deulofeu's return has been regarded as a bargain given that Everton are paying just €6m (£4.2m) to sign him, with many saying the deal is perfect for Everton.
Here are some of the reactions from Everton fans on Twitter after Deulofeu completed his return to Goodison Park this afternoon...
Ultimately, Deulofeu was rated as one of Europe's top young players after his last #EFC loan spell. To land him for €6m is a major coup— Matt Jones (@MattJFootball) June 25, 2015
Deulofeu is a brilliant signing for £4m. Martinez has his knockers, but it's very handy to have a contacts book like his. #EFC— Harry Foges (@harryfoges) June 25, 2015
Made up with the signing of Deulofeu. Excited he is back and happy I didn't get on his back first time round. More signings now please #EFC— Liam G (@liamg1878) June 25, 2015
£4.2ml for Deulofeu is an absolute steal in the current footballing market. Well done Martinez/Kenwright #efc— Mike Allen (@Mallen1878) June 25, 2015
