Tosh McKinlay has told The Scottish Sun that Celtic manager Ronny Deila should build his team around Stefan Johansen next season.

"I think Ronny will look to add to the squad rather than one coming in to replace one leaving,” the former Celtic defender told The Scottish Sun. “Johansen is Deila's man so he'll want to keep him there and build a team around him."

Johansen is one of the best players in the current Celtic squad and was in impressive form for the Bhoys in the recently concluded 2014-15 campaign.

The Norway international central midfielder has been on the books of the Scottish giants since January 2014, when he joined them from Norwegian outfit Stromsgodset.

Under compatriot Deila, Johansen’s importance in the current Celtic squad grew over the course of the 2014-15 season.

The impressive performances of the 24-year-old have led to reports that he could be prised away from the Scottish Premiership champions in the summer transfer window.

According to a report in The Daily Mail last week, German club Hamburg are interested in signing Johansen, who was named the PFA Scotland Player of the Year in 2014-15.

However, with Celtic standing a chance of playing in the Champions League next season, it is unlikely that Deila will want to lose one of his best players this summer.
