Lionel Messi celebrates his birthday today, turning 28-years-old.
He is by far the best player in the world, and has a strong claim to be named the greatest player to have ever played the sport of football.
And, having just turned 28, he should really be reaching his peak years in the coming months.
That is a scary thought for defenders of other teams, and should ease Barcelona’s passage to even more Champions League titles.
He is a magnificent player to watch, and although still not a World Cup winner, has all the right to be regarded as the best player ever. He scores goals, creates goals, impresses crowds and plays for the team - not just for himself.
Cristiano Ronaldo may disagree, but it is all these traits that make Messi the best in the world, and set him apart from all other contenders.
To celebrate Messi’s birthday, and his all round genius as a footballer, we take a look at the best five moments of a wonderful career.
