Bamba spent the second half of last season on loan at Elland Road, and it was confirmed on the official Leeds website that they have signed him on a permanent deal.
The 30-year-old centre-back impressed during his short spell at the club, and his capture is a real statement of intent from the club, showing that they mean business this summer.
In total, he made 19 appearances during his loan spell, cementing his place at the heart of the defence, and captaining the side when needed.
He is a veteran of British football, having enjoyed spells with Hibs, Dunfermline and Leicester, and Leeds will be hoping that his capture is the start of a passage back to the Premier League.
Bamba is the third signing Leeds have completed the summer, following the arrivals of goalkeeper Charlie Horton from Cardiff City, and striker Lee Erwin from Motherwell.
Whilst those signings were solid, if more for the future, the general response to the agreed Bamba deal is delight, with many Leeds fans claiming on Twitter that Leeds are starting to finally show a sense of progression which stands them in great stead for the start of next season.
Very happy with the Bamba signing and on a 2 year deal, hopefully Sol and Liam Cooper can form a good partnership next season #lufc— Tom Raynor (@TOMLUFC1995) June 24, 2015
Bamba = good signing. Most players at Champ level suffer from inconsistency, that's why they're not in the PL. The lad has ability. #lufc— Sheridan-Dictates (@Brac4773) June 24, 2015
Sol Bamba has signed. First really good signing this season, hopefully more to come #lufc— Macca (@bigmacca199) June 24, 2015
Bamba is a very good signing that needed to be done. If we got Moore in too, we'd have a good cb pairing this season.— Zak Lewis (@ZakLewis17) June 24, 2015
