Arsenal transfer round-up: Gunners receive apparent boost over Vidal interest

Emirates Outside Night

A round up of news stories this morning related to Arsenal.

The Daily Express claims Arsenal have been handed a boost over their reported interest in Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal.

The paper claims that Juventus’s deal for Roberto Pererya makes Vidal expendable if the Italian giants get the right sort of offer in.

However, the paper also suggests that Manchester United are still interested in making a move.

Spanish newspaper AS claims that reported Arsenal target Jackson Martinez has opted for a move to Atletico Madrid ahead of a move to the Gunners.

The talented forward has been linked with an Emirates Stadium switch from FC Porto this summer, but a deal now seems unlikely to happen.

The player’s agent has also confirmed the move according to the Daily Mirror.

The Metro claims that Arsenal’s apparent deal for goalkeeper Petr Cech is ‘a huge bargain’.

The newspaper points to a Tweet from Sky Sports which suggested that Arsenal’s unconfirmed deal for the player is worth around the £10.9 million mark.

Cech was displaced as Chelsea’s number one by Belgian shot stopper Thibaut Courtois last season.
