The Leeds United star has been working on his fitness to ensure he is ready for pre-season.
Mowatt was voted 2014/15 Leeds Player of the Year, and he has told the official club website how he has been preparing for pre-season.
The youngster said: “It’s [the holiday] been good, I’ve had a good break and I’m ready to get back at it now. I’ve had a few holidays but I’ve been running in between them to keep my fitness. I can’t wait for pre-season now. I’m just getting back to a good base of fitness so that when we come back I’m ready to go.”
Despite impressing so heavily during the last two seasons, the 20-year-old midfielder has not featured on either of the Whites' last two pre-season tours, missing 2014 through injury, and not being included in the squad in 2013.
Mowatt is set to return to Thorp Arch next week, before heading away with the squad to Austria and Norway, as new head coach Uwe Rosler gets his first look at his team. Mowatt is sure to feature heavily during pre-season as he looks to impress, with the young midfielder set to retain his key role for the upcoming campaign.
Knowing that he has been keeping fit during the summer is positive news for Leeds fans as well, with Mowatt’s importance evident for all to see. Rather than enduring the same slow start to the season that he underwent last term due to injury, he should be raring to go in time for the start of the Championship campaign at the beginning of August.
It promises to be a big year for Leeds, and with Mowatt set to take the Championship by storm, success could be just over the horizon.
