Former Sunderland winger James McClean has joined Premier League outfit West Bromwich Albion from League One club Wigan Athletic.

West Bromwich Albion fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to have their say on the signing of James McClean from Wigan Athletic.

The Republic of Ireland international winger has joined the Baggies on a three-year contract, with the Premier League club having a 12-month option.

According to BBC Sport, West Brom had to pay Wigan a transfer fee of about £1.5 million for the services of McClean.

The 26-year-old was Wigan’s best player last season and did all he could to prevent the Latics from getting relegated to League One.

The former Sunderland winger scored six goals and created 35 chances in 36 Championship appearances in the recently concluded 2014-15 campaign.

McClean had a pass accuracy of 69% and a shot accuracy of 40%, and he won 81 headers, 45 dribbles and 39 tackles.

Following McClean’s switch to West Brom, the Baggies fans took to Twitter to have their say.
