The 19-year-old goalkeeper is out-of-contract this summer, and a report in Catalan media outlet Sport claims that he is set to move to Wales and sign with Swnase City.
Having spent the season with Barcelona Juvenil A in 2014/15, Lara’s contract expires this summer and is keen on securing a move away from the club as chances at a higher age level are few and far between.
He would be set to move up to Barcelona B, but as they are well stocked in the goalkeeping department, Lara would be limited to how much he can play next term.
Due to this, he is planning on leaving the club at the end of his current deal, and the report claims that he ‘has all the numbers’ to become a new Swansea player on a free transfer.
It is reported that the Welsh club attempted to sign him last summer, but were shot down by Barca, but are now going to get their own back by agreeing a free deal with him.
There are no indications in the report as to how long a contract he will get, or at which level he will be playing for the club, but it is unlikely he will overtake Lukasz Fabianski in the pecking order.
Lara is sure to arrive and feature at Under-21 level, whilst occasionally deputising for Fabianski if needed. He is a purchase for the future, and agreeing his signing on a free transfer is a real coup for the club.
