HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club that Birmingham City striker Clayton Donaldson is a target for Leeds and several other Championship sides.
Donaldson enjoyed a fine debut season with Birmingham last term, scoring 16 goals in all competitions and his performances have not gone unnoticed.
Leeds are thought to be leading the chase for the 31-year-old as Uwe Rosler has made a big target man one of his main priorities this summer.
Rosler is a huge admirer of Donaldson having signed the player for Brentford from Crewe during his time in charge at Griffin Park.
Leeds have already brought in Lee Erwin from Motherwell this summer, but Rosler is keen to add more attacking options to his side ahead of the start of the Championship campaign in August.
Birmingham are keen to keep hold of Donaldson, but they are bracing themselves for offers for the forward and they could find it hard to resist a big money offer for a player they landed on a free transfer last summer.
