Arsenal legend Thierry Henry explained on the club’s official website that he’s aware of players at the club talking about consistency ahead of next season.
Henry feels it’s the key quality, which the Gunners need to produce once the competitive action returns this August, as they look to progress from the third place finish in the Premier League last season.
“I keep on mentioning players, all that we are waiting on is the consistency in the league,” he told arsenal.com.
“I saw some of the players talking about that consistency, and I know they have the quality to do it.”
Can Arsenal push for the title next season?
There’s no reason why the Gunners can’t get themselves in the mix and competing at the top of the Premier League next year.
They need a good start and they need to avoid the dips in form, which have plagued the club over the last few seasons.
If they can start the season well and establish an impressive early position near the top of the table, there’s no reason they can’t be taken seriously.
Is consistency the only thing that matters?
Consistency is only part of what Arsenal need to ensure becomes commonly associated with the first team next season.
Manager Arsene Wenger also needs to ensure that all of the club’s key players stay fit, even if that means reviewing the way they are training and the way they are treated.
It’s also important that the Frenchman adds well in the transfer market to address key weaknesses he sees in the squad.
If Wenger has solid options to bring into the side when certain players are unavailable, that will create a positive knock on effect in terms of consistency.
