Bradford and Swindon Town chase Bristol City's Adam El-Abd

Bristol City

HITC Sport understands Bristol City defender Adam El-Abd is a target for a number of clubs, including Bradford City and Swindon Town.

HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club that Bradford City and Swindon Town are chasing Bristol City defender Adam El-Abd.

El-Abd faces an uncertain future at Bristol City after spending most of last season on loan at Bury.

The Egypt international made 24 appearances on loan at Bury after joining last November and he played a key role in helping the club win promotion from League Two.

Bristol City won promotion to the Championship last season and it appears unlikely that El-Abd figures in Steve Cotterill's long-term plans at Ashton Gate after allowing him to go out on loan last term.

Bury are keen to keep El-Abd on a permanent basis, but they face competition from Bradford and Swindon for the experienced central defender.

Bradford boss Phil Parkinson and Swindon chief Mark Cooper see El-Abd as someone who could bolster their back-lines and bring valuable experience to their sides next season as they look to mount bids for promotion from League One.
