Arsenal transfer round-up: No official confirmation over Cech, blow over Gundogan

A round up of news stories this morning related to Arsenal.

Petr Cech’s apparent move to Arsenal will be confirmed by the player himself on Twitter, according to ESPN.

The Chelsea goalkeeper is widely expected to move to Arsenal ahead of the official opening of the transfer window next week.

Rumours have been circulating that the deal had already been completed according to the website, but no official line has yet emerged.

The agent of Ilkay Gundogan has hinted that the German midfielder could stay at Borussia Dortmund, as covered by the Daily Express.

The paper claims that the midfield star is a target for Arsenal, along with their Premier League rivals Manchester United.

However, a deal could be difficult if the player has a strong desire to stay in Germany.

“It was a very good talk and Ilkay is having thoughts now. [Staying at] Dortmund is certainly an option again,” he said.

The Metro has reported that Arsenal are considering a large offer for Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Real Madrid are also thought to be interested and the Gunners may have to pay a fee of just below the £30 million mark in any deal.

The paper claims that the Gabon striker is among the fastest attacking players in the world.
