Agent confirms English interest in Newcastle and West Ham-linked winger Alfonso of Villarreal

Villarreal, El Madrigal

HITC Sport understands that Everton and Aston Villa are also keeping a close eye on the highly-rated teenager.

A host of Premier League clubs are chasing Spanish starlet Alfonso Pedraza, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the player.

The highly-rated teenage winger has just broken through into Villarreal's first-team, making his debut for the La Liga outfit at the end of last season.

Simply know as Alfonso, the 19-year-old has come through the youth ranks at EL Madrigal and was called up to Spain's Under-19 squad earlier this year.

He had been earmarked to make a big impact on Villarreal's first-team next season, but they now face a major battle to hang on to his services this summer.

Newcastle United, Everton, Aston Villa and West Ham United are among the club's keen on sealing a deal for Alfonso, who has two years left on his current deal but a minimal buy-out clause.

His English agent Gregg Houghton confirmed there was strong interest in Alfonso and told HITC Sport: "All I can say is that, yes, there are a number of clubs in England looking at him.

"I can't name clubs but at this moment it would appear there is a strong chance he will be at a Premier League club next season."
