The Cherries have agreed a deal in principle to bring the veteran defender to Dean Court.
Premier League new boys Bournemouth have wasted no time in bolstering their squad for the new campaign and the latest addition looks set to be seasoned Premier League stalwart Sylvain Distin, according to Sky Sports.
The ex-Everton man saw his contract expire at the end of last year after six successful seasons at Goodison Park but now looks to have found a new home in the Premier League.
Distin is believed to have agreed terms on the move but has still to complete a medical. His arrival would be Bournemouth’s fifth signing this summer after goalkeepers Adam Federici and Artur Boruc joined along with striker Joshua King, while Chelsea winger Christian Atsu was taken on a season’s loan.
Eddie Howe looks to have made a strong start to the transfer window, acquiring players with Premier League experience for a relatively cheap outlay, but will need to add a touch more quality to his squad if they are to compete next season.
Bournemouth's Shrewd Business
Artur Boruc - The ex-Southampton and Celtic keeper has bags of experience including Premier League and Champions League outings. Will provide a commanding presence at the back.
Sylvain Distin - A consistent Premier League defender for nearly 15 years, the Frenchman will add experience and top-flight know-how on The Cherries debut season.
Christian Atsu - The explosive winger will be looking to get his career on track following a disappointing loan spell at Everton last year and Bournemouth could provide the setting for his coming of age.
