Tottenham fans react on Twitter to Pritchard's performance for England U21s

Tottenham Hotspur had three players in England's under-21 line-up on Sunday, but what did Spurs fans think of Alex Pritchard's contribution?

Tottenham Hotspur have a number of exciting young players in their squad at the moment, and Spurs fans will have been pleased to see three of them starting for England under-21s against Sweden in the Euro Championship on Sunday.

We all know what Harry Kane can do but it was also a chance to see Tom Carroll and Alex Pritchard in action – two Tottenham players who spent last season on loan at Swansea City and Brentford respectively.

Pritchard in particular impressed last season, scoring 12 goals and providing seven assists in 47 appearances for the Championship side; and his next task is to push for a regular place in Tottenham’s senior side when the new campaign kicks off.

He was going the right way about it this summer, impressing against Sweden until an ankle injury saw him leave the stadium on crutches and send shivers of trepidation down the spines of those Tottenham fans hoping next season would be his breakthrough.

It is not yet known how serious Pritchard’s injury is, but the good thing is he has the summer to recover and hopefully Tottenham will benefit from his talent when the action starts again.

After the match we took to Twitter to see what Spurs fans thought Pritchard’s performance prior to his injury and you can read a selection of what we found below:
