Report: West Bromwich Albion want £30m for Newcastle target Saido Berahino

Saido Berahino

Liverpool, Manchester City, Newcastle United, Everton and Southampton all reportedly want West Bromwich Albion's Saido Berahino.

West Bromwich Albion want £30 million for Saido Berahino, according to The Express & Star.

Earlier this month, The Mirror reported that the Baggies want £20m, but it now seems that they have increased the price tag.

According to The Sun, Premier League trio Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur are all interested in signing Berahino this summer.

Newcastle United, Everton and Southampton also want the youngster, claims The Mirror.

Is Saido Berahino worth £30 million?

Berahino has been at West Brom his entire career and has a contract until June 2017, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.

The 21-year-old striker is one of the best young players in the Premier League and had a decent season in 2014-15.

In 38 league matches, Berahino scored 14 goals and created 28 chances, and had a pass accuracy of 83% and a shot accuracy of 54%.

Berahino is a very good and promising young player, but he is not worth £30 million as he has yet to prove that he is a top-quality striker.

It will come as a surprise if any of the clubs who are allegedly interested in him go anywhere close to that valuation mark.

Perhaps this is tactic that is being used by West Brom to fend off interests in Berahino and keep him at The Hawthorns for the 2015-16 season.
