Spurs will be hopeful the 22-year old regains fitness in time for the new campaign.
Alex Pritchard returned to Spurs this summer after an impressive loan spell at Brentford and is expected to be involved in the first team squad next season.
His hopes of impressing Mauricio Pochettino in pre-season have been dealt a huge blow however, after he suffered ankle ligament damage against Sweden on Sunday.
The Spurs man has been ruled out of the tournament and has returned home from the Czech Republic for treatment in a bid to be fit for the new campaign, as per The Independent.
Pritchard started on the bench in England’s first game of the tournament as Portugal came out on top in a close encounter but his cameo in the last ten minutes received widespread acclaim. Gareth Southgate was sufficiently impressed to give the nippy midfielder a start against Sweden and he again impressed before succumbing to injury.
Spurs fans will be concerned about the extent of his injury but excited about Pritchard’s displays prior to it. The academy graduate has shown all the signs of being able to feature in Spurs first team next season.
