Harry Redknapp: Big loss for Tottenham Hotspur if they sell Hugo Lloris

Hugo Lloris

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris is reportedly being targeted by Premier League rivals Manchester United.

Harry Redknapp has written on Kicca.com that losing Hugo Lloris this summer will be a big blow to Tottenham Hotspur.

According to The Mirror, the France international goalkeeper is on the radar of Spurs’ Premier League rivals Manchester United.

Former Tottenham manager Redknapp has suggested that Tottenham should not sell the 28-year-old former Nice star this summer.

“Also United would need to focus on finding another world-class keeper, many see Hugo Lloris moving from Spurs, if that happens that will be a big loss for Tottenham as he was one of the few good buys the club made with the Bale and Modric money,” Redknapp wrote on Kicca.com.

Can Tottenham Hotspur afford to lose Hugo Lloris?

Lloris is one of the best goalkeepers in the world and arguably the only world-class player in the current Tottenham squad.

Losing the former Lyon star will be a blow to Spurs, especially as they will struggle to find a suitable replacement.

After all, there are not many - if any - world-class goalkeepers around who would be willing to move to a club who cannot offer them Champions League football.

Moreover, selling Lloris to United will strengthen the Red Devils, who will be challenging for a top-four finish in the Premier League next season - just like Tottenham would.
