West Ham United crock Andy Carroll thanks his fitness coach as he gets closer to full fitness

The striker has been out since February with a knee injury.

When Andy Carroll returns to first-team action for West Ham United it will certainly be like a new signing for The Hammers.

The England international has struggled for full fitness ever since signing for West Ham from Liverpool, originally on loan, and permanently in 2013.

The striker, who according to the BBC cost West Ham £15 million, suffered a knee injury in February. He was ruled out for the rest of last season and faced a fight to get fit for the start of the 2015-16 campaign.

Carroll has now posted a message on Twitter thanking the man who has been helping him get back to his full fitness.

He posted this Tweet toward Spanish fitness coach Eduardo Pargar after his final session working with the respected coach:

Carroll also shared a picture with the coach, looking in good shape ahead of pre-season.

The striker only played 16 games last term and scored five goals. He didn't get into action until November so next term he will want to be fit from the start in order to prevent a patchy beginning to a hopefully more productive season at Upton Park.
