According to the official website of Argentine club Estudiantes De La Plata, Monaco have struck a £6.3 million deal to sign striker Guido Carrillo.
The 24-year-old star has earned rave reviews since the turn of the New Year, netting four goals in eight Argentine top-flight matches and seven strikes in the Copa Libertadores.
Tipped to be a big success in Europe, Monaco have been quick to get a deal done and an official statement from Estudiantes club president Juan Sebastian Veron confirmed the agreement.
His arrival in Monte Carlo will likely spark speculation over striking sensation Anthony Martial, as the Argentine forward could be heading to the French outfit as his direct replacement.
Spurs are in need of providing competition to regular centre-forward Harry Kane, with fellow strikers Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado failing to prove worthy back-ups.
Martial would be a real coup for the North Londoners, rated as one of his country’s most promising players after netting 12 first team goals last season and earning France U21 international recognition.
While such talk of an agreement has gone quiet in recent days, perhaps Monaco were holding out to find a suitable replacement first and the imminent signing of Carillo could push the matter along.
Mauricio Pochettino was said to be a big fan of the 19-year-old in the report by France Football, and his huge potential is certainly something which would excite the White Hart Lane support.
