Former Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Richard O’Donnell has expressed his doubts on social networking site Twitter about Petr Cech moving to Arsenal this summer.
The Czech Republic international goalkeeper has been on the books of Chelsea since 2004 and has a contract until June 2016, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.
According to The Mirror, North London outfit Arsenal are interested in signing the 33-year-old in the summer transfer window.
For some reason, I just can't picture Cech at Arsenal. Probably just because he's been at Chelsea so long. Be a great signing though!— Richard O'Donnell (@RichODonnell23) June 19, 2015
Cech is one of the best goalkeepers in the world, but he is the second choice at Chelsea at the moment due to the presence of Thibaut Courtois.
The former Rennes star is unlikely to get much playing time at Stamford Bridge next season, and it would be a good move for him to join Arsenal.
However, it remains to be seen if Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho will allow Cech to join one of the Blues’ main title challengers.
