According to Spanish paper Marca, Real Madrid boss Rafa Benitez has ruled out the departure of Jese Rodriguez amid speculation over his future.
The talented Spanish U21 international spent much of last season sidelined, firstly with a long-term injury and then as a result of heavy competition for places on his return.
In a previous report by Spanish paper AS, Jese was said to be so disillusioned by his progress that talk of a permanent exit was rife, opening up a great opportunity for the Hammers to strike a real coup.
However, the East Londoners can seemingly now forget about acquiring one of Europe’s top youngsters as reports claim newly-appointed boss Rafa Benitez sees his future at the Santiago Bernabeu.
“Rafa Benítez sees a bright future for Jesé. He has spoken about the youngster's chances of progressing and that he would like the player from the Canaries to stay,” the report in Marca states.
Alternatives for West Ham United?
Following the acquisition of Pedro Obiang and the ongoing transfer saga involving former loan star Alex Song, West Ham boss Slaven Bilic will now want to bolster his attacking options.
Queens Park Rangers ace Charlie Austin has been sounded out, whereas Ecuador goal machine Miller Bolonas is the latest to be linked with a move to Upton Park, as per Calciomercato.
The Hammers were desperately short on goals towards the end of last season and their biggest priority this summer will be adding the necessary creativity to supplement Enner Valencia and Andy Carroll.
