Notts County are interested in signing former Newcastle United striker Adam Campbell, according to The Nottingham Post.
Campbell is a free agent at the moment, having been released by Premier League outfit Newcastle at the end of the recently concluded 2014-15 season.
It has now been reported by The Nottingham Post that League Two side Notts want to sign the 20-year-old.
Campbell is a talented young player, but he could not make the progress that many expected him to make in 2014-15.
The English youngster feature thrice in the Premier League and twice in the Europa League for Newcastle during the 2013-14 campaign.
Being released by Newcastle will have come as a blow to Campbell, but he now needs to get over that disappointment and get his career back on track.
County are in League Two, and perhaps it is best that the youngster starts in the lower leagues and then moves upwards.
What Campbell needs next season is regular playing time. If Notts are offering him that, then he should join them.
