The Turkish talent has been in fine form for Dundee United this season.
Former Celtic player Pierre van Hooijdonk has made it clear that one of his current clients is not on the radar of Celtic at this moment in time, despite reports to the contrary.
The Glasgow Evening Times reports Hooijdonk, who is now a football agent, as saying this about reported Celtic target Nadir Ciftci:
“There has never been any formal interest from Celtic.”
It is not the first time Hooijdonk, who played 92 times for Celtic and scored 56 goals in the mid-90s, has made such statements regarding the controversial Turkish striker. He told the BBC much the same thing in April.
Celtic have of course raided Dundee United in the recent memory, snapping up Stuart Armstrong and Gary Mackay-Steven in the winter.
It would however seem that Cifcti is not currently getting the same treatment.
The 23-year-old is said to be keen on a Dundee United exit. He is currently awaiting a suspension after being charged with biting Dundee's Jim McAllister in a local derby back in May.
