The Spaniard wished his countryman all the best back at former club Celta Vigo.
According to the Guardian, Liverpool paid Celta Vigo a fee in the region of £7.7 million for his services in June 2013 but Aspas struggled in England.
The physical nature of English football did not agree with Aspas who only managed 15 games and one goal for Liverpool in 2013-14 before being shipped out on loan to Sevilla last summer.
He enjoyed a reasonable spell at Sevilla but was still not a first-team regular so has decided on a return to Celta Vigo, where he remains something of a club hero.
Most Liverpool fans will not lose much sleep over his departure, although one Liverpool player who looks set to miss him is fellow Spaniard Jose Enrique.
The left-back, who himself has struggled for first-team football recently, sent this message Aspas' way on Instagram earlier in the week, congratulating him on his move and saying he deserved the return to his former club.
Enrique, who has not played for Liverpool since January and played just nine times last season will now be wondering if he will be following Aspas out of the exit door at Anfield.
