The 21-year-old has put pen to paper on a new deal with Rangers which will keep him at Loftus Road until the end of the 2015-16 campaign.
Sutherland’s original contract was due to run out at the end of this month, and he will now get to remain at the club where he has been since the age of 10.
Following the signing of the new contract, Sutherland took to Twitter to express his happiness.
Sutherland is a talented young midfielder, and he will be looking to break into the QPR first team next season.
The youngster played on loan for League Two outfit AFC Wimbledon during the 2014-15 campaign.
The 21-year-old made 16 appearances Steve Gallen’s Elite Development Squad last season as well.
Sutherland also made the QPR matchday squad for the Premier League game against West Bromwich Albion away from home during the 2014-15 campaign.
The youngster was part of the substitutes at The Hawthorns, as Rangers got the better of 10-man West Brom 4-1.
