Everton fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to have their say on the new contract handed to Phil Jagielka.
The 32-year-old defender has put pen to paper on a new deal with the Toffees which runs until June 2018.
The England international has been on the books of Everton since 2007 and is considered as one of the better centre-backs in the Premier League.
Jagielka has played almost 300 competitive matches for the Merseyside outfit and is also the captain of the first team.
The former Sheffield United star was arguably the best player for Everton during the recently concluded 2014-15 season.
Jagielka scored four goals and created two chances in 37 Premier League appearances in 2014-15.
The Englishman had a pass accuracy of 88% and a shot accuracy of 46%, and won 103 headers, seven dribbles and 43 tackles.
Following the announcement of the new deal, Everton supporters took to social networking site Twitter to have their say.

@Everton why not wait to see how 35 yr old Jagielka is playing in two yrs time. Extending his contract now is typical Martinez gash! Awful.— Paul Kak (@paulkak) June 19, 2015
