Leeds United have been linked with some positive permanent transfers this summer.
Leeds United have already made some good signings since Uwe Rosler came in as the club’s manager and there are likely to be more fresh faces before the team’s first game of the Championship season against Burnley.
Leeds have a very youthful and exciting looking squad, which needs to be tweaked in a few key areas for Rosler to stand a better chance of getting the side into a position, where they are pushing for at least a top six place.
Here are five of the best players linked with moves to Leeds United from the past week.
Sol Bamba (Palermo)
The Yorkshire Evening Post reported earlier this week that Leeds are closing on a deal for the defender.
He did well on loan with the club last season and already has experience of the pace and demands of Championship football and he can slot straight into the team.
Tendayi Darikwa (Chesterfield)
The Yorkshire Evening Post recently mentioned the Chesterfield man as a potential target for the club and he could find it difficult to turn down the chance to make the step up to a massive club like Leeds United.
Stefano Okaka (Sampdoria)
Italian source TMW and Sport Witness claimed Leeds were battling against Ligue One side Monaco to sign Stefano Okaka on a deal from Sampdoria. If the report was accurate and Monaco are interested, Leeds could find it difficult to compete financially.
Birkir Bjarnason (Pescara)
Calcio Mercato claims Leeds United are one of five clubs chasing a deal for the experienced midfielder.
With Rudy Austin’s release at Leeds confirmed long ago, there is arguably a need for Rosler to bring in a midfielder with a bit more experience to back up the talented young options he already has in his side.
Brandon Barker (Manchester City)
FLW claimed that their sources have suggested that the pacey young winger is a loan target for Leeds. The club do have a need to add an extra body in a wide position, but they do already own an option Rosler could use in the form of Nicky Ajose.
