Willem II defender Mitchell Dijks is poised to re-join Ajax, according to reports.
The 22-year-old left back joined Ajax as a teenager having emerged with Volendam, but was a bit-part player in Amsterdam, amassing just eight first team appearances for the club.
Having impressed on loan for Heerenveen in the 2013-14 season, Dijks left Ajax permanently last summer, joining Willem II on a two-year deal.
The lanky defender, who can also play at centre back, starred for Willem this past season, and duly prompted speculation over his future.
The Sun have recently suggested that Dijks was Celtic's top target at left back, with manager Ronny Deila keen to add competition and cover for Emilio Izaguirre.
However, the saga surrounding Dijks' future is now seemingly over, with De Telegraaf reporting today that Ajax have agreed a deal with Williem to re-sign Dijks.
A three-year deal with the player has been agreed, and it seems that only the finishing touches remain on a deal to take Dijks back to the Amsterdam Arena - and leave Deila to look for alternative solutions to his left back problems.
