Report: Feyenoord to drop Jordy Clasie asking price as replacement targeted

Feyenoord

Southampton and Sunderland have been linked with making a move for Jordy Clasie.

Clasie has been linked with a transfer to the Premier League, with a Feyenoord exit expected this summer, and a report in SoccerNews claims that he will be allowed to leave for a lower transfer fee than previously quoted.

The report claims that Feyenoord have already targeted Marko Vejinovic from Vitesse as Clasie’s replacement, and with his transfer incoming, the club are willing to sell Clasie for a lower price to clear him off their books.

The 23-year-old midfielder has been linked with two Premier League clubs in particular, with the Star claiming Southampton are interested, and SoccerNews reporting that Sunderland also want him.

The Star report indicates that Feyenoord were originally looking for a roughly £13 million fee for the talented Dutch international, but the latest report indicates that the Eredivisie outfit will settle for a lower fee to speed up the transfer.

There are no indications as to a fee that Feyenoord will now accept for a buying club to open negotiations with Clasie, but for anything less than the original valuation, he looks to be a fantastic budget signing for whichever club signs him.
