Besiktas are interested in signing Papiss Cisse from Newcastle United in the summer transfer window.
According to Turkish news outlet Aksam.com.tr, Besiktas are keen on recruiting the Senegal international striker.
However, the Turkish giants are not willing to pay the £10 million transfer fee that Newcastle reportedly want.
According to a report in The Chronicle earlier this week, the Premier League club have put a £10m price tag on the 30-year-old.
It has been reported by Aksam.com.tr that Besiktas will try to negotiate with Newcastle and bring down their asking price.
Should Newcastle sell Papiss Cisse?
Cisse is one of the better players in the current Newcastle squad, and losing him now would be a blow for the Magpies.
The former Freiburg striker has been on the books of Premier League outfit Newcastle since 2012 and has a contract which runs until June 2017, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.
The Senegalese scored 11 goals and created six chances in 22 Premier League appearances in the recently concluded 2014-15.
For Newcastle to break into the top 10 of the Premier League next season, Cisse needs to be part of the team.
However, if the Magpies can line up a better replacement, then they should be able to cope without Cisse next season.
