Report: Arsenal interested in Tottenham target Sven Bender

Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Southampton are all interested in Borussia Dortmund’s Sven Bender.

Arsenal are interested in signing Sven Bender from Borussia Dortmund in the summer transfer window, according to Bild.

The German publication also claims that Liverpool have shown an interest in the 26-year-old defensive midfielder.

Interestingly, the Gunners have also been linked by The Sun with a move for Bender’s twin brother Lars, who is on the books of Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen at the moment.

North London outfit Arsenal and Merseyside side Liverpool are not the only two Premier League clubs to be keen on Sven Bender, though.

According to a report in The Daily Mail earlier this week, Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton want to sign the 1860 Munich player.

Good signing?

Bender is one of the best players in the Bundesliga and has been on the books of Dortmund since 2009.

The Germany international’s current contract with the former German champions runs out in June 2017, which means that Arsenal will have to pay a transfer fee.

The former 1860 Munich midfielder created 11 chances in 20 Bundesliga appearances in the recently concluded 2014-15 campaign.

Bender had a pass accuracy of 79% and a shot accuracy of 25%, and he won 49 headers, 15 dribbles and 42 tackles.
