Nottingham Forest flop Rafik Djebbour returns to former team AEK Athens

Nottingham Forest 2

The Algerian is not fondly remembered at Nottingham Forest.

It is fair to say that Nottingham Forest fans probably do not have overly fond memories of Rafik Djebbour's time at the club.

The Algerian arrived full of promise. He had scored an incredible 45 goals in 81 games at Greek giants Olympiakos prior to his arrival at the City Ground.

He went on to join Turkish side Sivasspor, before Forest snapped him up from Olympiakos in January 2014.

He turned out to be a monumental flop. He fell out with the coaching staff in Nottingham and, despite a debut goal v Yeovil Town, it was his only strike for the club in eight appearances.

In the summer his loan from Olympiakos became obligatorily permanent, but he was subsequently released by mutual consent.

He went on to join Cypriot side APOEL Nicosia, where he had an excellent 2014-15. His side won the league and cup double, with Djebbour scoring 17 goals in the process.

He made the headlines for celebrating the win with a machine gun!

Now Djebbour is on the move back to Greece. He has agreed to return to AEK Athens, despite leaving the club on bad terms back in 2011.

The Nottingham Forest flop signed off from APOEL with this Tweet yesterday, highlighting his controversial personality once again.
