Swansea City have confirmed the signing of Franck Tabanou.

As per the official Swansea City website, the club’s second summer signing Franck Tabanou has labelled the Welsh outfit his 'perfect match' and spoken highly of boss Garry Monk.

The 26-year-old was heavily linked with the club during the January transfer window and was keen on a summer move following the Swans’ renewed interest, the BBC reported two weeks ago.

Tabanou played the majority of last season in a left-back role but he is capable of pushing further forward, largely because of his ability to create chances.

His intricate possession-based style, sprinkled with attacking quality, is very much on the same wavelength as the Swans and he explained on his arrival why he believes he has found the ideal platform for his talents.

"Swansea is a very good Premier League club and I believe it's the right move forward for me at this stage of my career. I wanted to come to Swansea because I believe we are the perfect match,” he said.

"I've been watching them closely ever since and I like the way they play the game; their whole philosophy on football. Again, it all matched.

"I was particularly impressed with the manager because he knew everything about me. I was also touched by the fact that he said I was a top signing for Swansea."

Tabanou had a superb campaign for St Etienne last season, making a club-high 72 interceptions and a total of five assists – more than any other defender in the league.

He will add strength in depth down the left flank and his attacking quality will without doubt be a big hit with the supporters at the Liberty Stadium.
