The 22-year-old is one of the most highly-rated stoppers in Italian football, and is seen as the future of the Azzurri, and a long-term first choice for whichever club signs him. He seems to have outgrown Genoa, and even though he has four years left on his contract, the Serie A outfit may look to cash in on him whilst his reputation is high.
Last season, the youngster made 33 appearances for the club, keeping eight clean sheets and conceding 38 goals. His impressive performances - as Genoa secured European football - earned him his first senior call-up to the Italian national side, making his debut in November.
Despite the links to the Premier League, his agent has confirmed that no proposals have yet been made to Genoa concerning the transfer of his services, and it appears as if both clubs are assessing all of their options before formalising their interest into a concrete offer for Perin.
