The French international is set to join the Mexican club and become the highest paid player in the league.
Andre-Pierre Gignac is out of contract at French giants Marseille this summer. The French international was being linked with West Ham, especially when Marcelo Bielsa, current Marseille boss, was linked with the manager posting.
But according to the Mirror West Ham are still keen on the striker, who scored 21 goals in 38 appearances last season, with Bilic at the helm.
West Brom have also been linked. It was reported however earlier in the week by the Express and Star that The Baggies had given up on Gignac - as he was all set to make a shock move to Mexican side Tigres.
West Ham were not likely to be put off. Why would a French international, with a chance of playing at the European Championships on home soil next summer, head to Central America?
Well, he has.
Tigres posted this Tweet last night, confirming that Gignac was due in Mexico today to perform his medical and be presented to fans of the club.
Fox Sports are reporting that Gignac will become the league's best paid player ever, with a reported figure of $4 million (£2.5m) a year - a weekly salary of around £50,000-a-week.
It is certainly an odd move, but Gignac clearly liked the idea of sunshine and what is likely to be a very handsome paycheck.
