Arsenal handed Arturo Vidal boost as Real Madrid cool interest

The Juventus midfielder has been linked with the Gunners already, and now they could steal a march on their rivals for his signature.

Arsenal have been handed a boost in any potential attempt to sign Arturo Vidal, with Real Madrid’s interest now cooling, according to Marca.

The La Liga giants have long been interested in the Juventus midfielder according to the newspaper, with him being the exact type of midfielder those higher up at club want in their star studded side.

However, while his sporting pedigree remains without doubt, it seems his off-field lifestyle has led to the club losing interest in his signature, with them considering his personal life as messy and unhealthy for an elite athlete.

That has led them to believe that any move for the Chilean would be unsuitable and risky, paving the way for Arsenal to steal a march and secure his signature.

Do Arsenal need Vidal?

While the Gunners have an already packed midfield of talent, it is undeniable that Vidal would instantly command a place within it, while he would also represent the kind of powerhouse midfield star they have craved since the days of Patrick Vieira.

The player would also likely be keen to link up with Chile team mate Alexis Sanchez at the Emirates, although any potential move would not come cheaply for Arsene Wenger’s side.

If they were to secure him though, it would be a sure fire warning to the rest of the Premier League that they mean business, and in the process make them strong title contenders.
